Waypoint Plays: Our Favorite Games of 2017

The gods are Extremely Online, and we are their playthings.

Rob Zacny

Welcome to Waypoint's Pantheon of Games, a celebration of our favorite games, a re-imagining of the year's best characters, and an exploration of the 2017's most significant trends.

As we chiseled marble monuments to our Pantheon of Games, the Waypoint team also recorded special playthroughs of some of our favorite games. And of course, we kicked things off by gathering The Family and parachuting into PUBG one last time for 2017.

And then we faced another dilemma: we wanted to showcase Resident Evil 7 in VR, but Waypoint is generally full of cowards with weak stomachs. The one exception to this rule is Danika, who bravely descended into the depths of gross-out psycho-horror.

Of course, we couldn't let 2017 go without returning to our Breath of the Wild permadeath adventure. And now that it's all uploaded to youtube, you can watch our entire Permadeath series right here.

Then, Austin and Rob went to war to save humanity from the alien menace in the year's best strategy game, XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. Things go really well until they don't.

And then we realized that if you're at war, you need an army, and an army marches on its stomach, which means we needed to deploy the Battle Chef Brigade.
