Poke a Jerk In the Face In This Bizarre Browser Game

‘Human Head Simulator’ is an accurate representation of our species.

I'm into minimal, weirdo browser games these days, at least as a fun and sometimes revelatory exercise. Human Head Simulator fits the bill nicely—it's a blocky, bizarro, disembodied head that you can click on, poke at, and… rearrange its hairs.

It carries simple instructions from creator Marek Kapolka, simply "Enjoy poking and prodding the floating head" and I fully engaged, playing for longer than I care to admit.

There's something oddly satisfying about toying with a creation like this, finding every possible interaction. Hitting the nose produces a 'boop." Messing with the ears gives you nasty earwax. Bodies are gross, even when relegated entirely to the "noble" realm of the head, it seems to say.

Or maybe, heads are even sillier than the rest of us, with all these goofily-shaped sensory organs and hairs and other accoutrements.

You can play Human Head Simulator for free on the game's site.
