People are still hungry for that chicken dinner.

Few games have taken an entire industry by storm the way PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has. That's represented not only by the fact that everyone can't stop talking about it, but the game selling more than five million copies in Early Access since its release in March and, as the game's designer pointed out over the weekend, having 481,291 players in search of chicken dinner simultaneously. The only games having hit a similar player count are Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Of the top 10 games being played on Steam, only one of them is from this year: Battlegrounds. The only games from 2016 are No Man's Sky, with more than 200,000 people having explored space at the same time, and Civilization VI.

The others are what you'd expect: Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto V, Payday 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Terraria. This list doesn't change all that often.
