'Wolfenstein: The New Order' Is Waypoint 101's Next Game

It is time to play Wolfenstein.

Waypoint 101 is part podcast, part book club. Each month(ish) we pick something off the shelf, dust it off, and play through it alongside our community. We discuss the game and raise questions about it on our forums and then those of us here at Waypoint chat about it across a couple podcast episodes. Over the next month or so, we'll be revisiting Machine Games' 2014 rendition of the Nazi-killing adventures of B.J. Blazcowicz, a remarkable artifact from a place and time in which the one thing we could all agree on was that fighting Nazi was the good fight.

We had a whole thing planned where maybe we were going to do a little poll where we asked people, "Hey, what game would you like us to play next for Waypoint 101?" We were having a lot of debates among ourselves about what we had time to commit to, what we were in the mood for, and what else we might be revisiting in the next couple of months for Waypoint 101.

We even specifically thought we should shelf The New Order for another month or two, so that it lined up better with the game's upcoming sequel.

But you know what? To hell with it: Wolfenstein: The New Order is the game Waypoint wants to revisit right now and maybe, if you look in your heart, it's the game we might all feel better revisiting.

It's also a perfect time to play The New Order because its sequel, The New Colossus, is coming out this October and will pick up from where the 2014 game left-off.

Wolfenstein is available on PC (here's a Steam link if you prefer that platform), as well as PS4 and Xbox (the easiest option there might be the New Order / Old Blood two-for-one, but we'll only be playing The New Order).
