Why the Hell Did I Wait So Long to Play 'Bayonetta 2'?

Thank you Switch for my life.

I never played all the way through Bayonetta, but was infatuated enough with the way the game looked that I spent hours upon hours watching playthroughs, reading up on the game, and even at one point making plans to cosplay Bayonetta herself. I told myself time and time again I’d pick up Bayonetta 2 when it came out on the Wii U in 2014, but sadly, I never got around to it, because, well… I was too busy watching anime and that’s the truth. Lucky for me, Bayonetta 2 just came out on the Switch and I haven’t kept up with a current season of anime in two years, so I am fucking SET.

Bayonetta 2 on the Switch is filled to the brim with hack n’ slash action, extravagant fights against angels and demons, and has a higher frame rate that makes the game look even more incredible. This game feels and looks huge, and there’s something very fun about moving through these fights on my Switch. I followed a demon up a skyscraper, launching attacks and perfect combos left and right, and when I unleashed Bayonetta’s special, Umbran Climax, it felt like I was right beside her, watching this bad boy get taken down.

Because I’m really enjoying how the game feels on a handheld, I haven’t even docked my Switch to see what it looks like on the TV. This feeling of, “I could probably play anything on this thing” makes my love for the Switch grow even more. I wish I played Bayonetta 2 sooner, but I’m so glad I’m playing it now.
